Eagle Eye Supports UK Hospitality with Outdoor Café Initiative

Eagle Eye Solutions, a leading marketing technology company, has partnered with The UK's Grand Outdoor Summer Café to power its hospitality voucher initiative for frontline workers—enabling the public to say "thank you" by donating complimentary vouchers for use in physically distanced outdoor venues.

Developed by live music venue operator The Piano Works, The UK’s Grand Outdoor Summer Café aims to thank the public, reward key workers, and support the hospitality industry as it reopens. The initiative anticipates the easing of lockdown restrictions and a potential government decision to allow outdoor seating on sidewalks, squares, and other open spaces—pending safety and accessibility regulations.

With more than 100 operators already committed, the campaign will launch this summer, encouraging customers to contribute toward digital vouchers for frontline workers. Donations are collected through Eagle Eye's audience network in partnership with Blue Light Card, the UK’s public sector discount platform. In collaboration with Wi-Fi provider Wireless Social, the program offers a secure and simple setup for participating operators.

Unique voucher codes are issued in real time via the Eagle Eye AIR platform and can be redeemed at participating venues through contactless, hygienic methods. All donated funds are reimbursed to venues at face value—helping drive foot traffic, boost sales, and increase public confidence by showcasing safe and positive use of space by key workers.

Should the government not approve outdoor seating deregulation, the vouchers will still be valid for indoor use and will have no expiration date.

How It Works

  • Funding: Customers are contacted via operators’ opted-in databases and redirected to a JustGiving page to donate.
  • Registration: Frontline workers register their Blue Light Card number to receive a unique Eagle Eye voucher.
  • Redemption: Vouchers are instantly redeemable at participating venues. If the bill exceeds the voucher value, the guest pays the difference.
  • Operator Reimbursement: Participating venues are reimbursed 100% of the voucher’s value. A 15% fee per £1 donation covers VAT and admin.

Eagle Eye is donating full use of its AIR platform for this initiative at no cost. Wireless Social will also provide free onboarding for operators not already using its guest Wi-Fi service.

About The UK's Grand Outdoor Summer Café

The Grand Outdoor Cafe is a campaign from live music venues The Piano Works to safely restart the UK hospitality industry by transforming public spaces and streets into fabulous al fresco dining spaces whilst adhering to physical distancing. The campaign proposes that seating on pavements, squares and open spaces outside of restaurants and bars be permitted and is calling on the government to issue a directive to grant local authorities temporary deregulation to allow tables and chairs outside existing hospitality businesses.

Following our open letter to Alok Sharma, calling on the government to allow local authorities to permit hospitality operators to use open spaces and squares outside their venues to serve food and drinks, Robert Jenrick, the Housing and Local Government Minister, has said "he is now considering a ‘blanket’ permission for restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars to use pedestrianised streets for tables and chairs" as reported in the Sunday Telegraph 17th May.
