The rapid development of the "Connection at Till" solution enables venues to submit eligible HMRC claims for rebates supporting the hospitality industry after lockdown.
Leading marketing technology company Eagle Eye Solutions is announcing the development of a new capability to help hospitality operators using the Oracle MICROS RES 3700 POS system access the UK government's "Eat Out to Help Out" discount voucher scheme.
Eagle Eye recently collaborated with a client to implement the discount scheme at the point of sale (POS) within 24 hours, ensuring the ability to apply relevant discounts in a fast and simple way that aligns with HMRC's requirements for eligible claims. To support the broader hospitality industry, Eagle Eye is now offering this capability to other Oracle MICROS RES 3700 POS users for free ahead of the scheme’s launch on August 3rd.
The new capability enables operators to launch the scheme alongside other promotions. Staff are prompted to apply all other discounts first, removing the need for manager intervention. The POS then automatically applies the Eat Out to Help Out discount, speeding up the sales process and ensuring that claims submitted to HMRC meet all required guidelines. The solution removes the need for costly custom software development or complex configuration.
"We're pleased to be able to help by launching this new capability to ensure that every hospitality operator can benefit from the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme," said Al Henderson, Chief Sales Officer, Eagle Eye. "We're experts at managing promotions and have the ability to easily spin up new capabilities like this. So, we're making it more widely available because we believe it will help operators running Oracle MICROS RES 3700 POS increase their chances of recovery by assuring access to the relief that the scheme offers as the hospitality industry relaunches after lockdown."
Introduced by the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Eat Out to Help Out scheme aims to support the hospitality sector’s recovery following the COVID-19 lockdown, which began on March 23. While venues were allowed to reopen starting July 4, the scheme encourages more in-venue dining during quieter days. It offers each diner 50% off food and non-alcoholic beverages, up to £10 per person, with no minimum spend. The promotion runs every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday throughout the month of August.
Eagle Eye's Eat Out to Help Out capability is available now for immediate deployment and is being offered free of charge to all Oracle MICROS RES 3700 POS users.
