The Winn-Dixie Company (TWDC) aimed to transition from a traditional, rewards model to a fully digital, customer-first loyalty ecosystem. The Challenge

The Winn-Dixie Company’s existing loyalty infrastructure had not leveraged the benefits of unification and needed to transform to meet the expectations of the modern digital consumer. The key areas of opportunity included:

  • Legacy, Generic Rewards: The loyalty program historically relied on fuel discounts and basic points-for-dollars grocery rewards, supported by simple coupon redemptions and small-scale targeted promotions. Rewards lacked 1:1 personalization, resulting in limited customer engagement beyond transactional behavior and constrained financial ROI scalability.

  • Fragmented Systems and Limited Visibility: Core loyalty, coupon, and promotion systems operated in disconnected silos. The Solution

    • Message at Register: Executed real-time, personalized offers and notifications after checkout on the receipt to encourage customers to return to their stores and engage with their loyalty rewards.
